What is the longest distance you drove to attend a summer Convention?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhere is a photo of the milwaukee brewers ( american baseball team) county stadium.
for some reason, we were assigned this outdoor stadium for our 1975 four-day summer convention.
our congregation was located 90 miles away on the north side of chicago.. some congregation members stayed at milwaukee hotels for the four-day convention.

Getting disfellowshipped to marry and return
by confused ini was just wondering if there is any official rules on dealing with this.
a sister in the congregation is planning to divorce her husband who is also a witness so she can marry a different brother in the same hall!
yes this is a huge scandal!

You forget one important thing and that is Adultery is a provision from Jehovah!
Let’s say you are in a bad marriage say there maybe abuse or bad sex or any number of things that make this marriage undesirable. With the witnesses there is only two ways to get out of it. Death or adultery. Since murder is illegal in most areas, this makes adultery your best option. Of course you have to set in the back of the Kingdom Hall for a few years but it beats 30 years in the slammer! So you can see this is a wonderful provision from god’s loving organization to get out of a bad marriage!
ps it got me out of mine

How do they decide when to get rid of certain information in their publications?
by Tameria2001 ini was recently watching a video on youtube and on the john cedars channel, he was talking about how the watchtower has discontinued quite a few of their books from back when i was still active.
so it got me to thinking about how do they decide that certain teaching doesn't fit them anymore.
so i was wondering does anyone have any ideas on how they come to that decision because if any of their members bring up something, that person can be disfellowshipped?.

It's simple they pray on the matter.
"Dear god we have a problem! You gave us some bad information about the pedophiles in the organization also about the years 1975, 1918, 1925 and 1914. We have dozens of book with false information with 'old/new light.' Remember the time back in 1971 when you told us you couldn't divorce your mates if they were gay or having sex with farm animals."
"So what do we do now?"
God of course says. "Burn the Books!"

Another thing I noticed before I left the Borg in 2001 was that the people at rural circuits assemblies were way heavier/fatter than the people that were in attendance at the City circuits assemblies.
Please check out the web site "Why are Mormon women fat" it really has some good information on the causes of this.
I believe the JWs and Mormons religions are very much alike on how they treat their women.
Help mates? Or please my I have another "helping" of french fries!

Sad but true. My ex-girlfriend was raised Mormon. So I went to a couple of her church services. I couldn't help but notice at the meetings how most the women there were over weight and packing some serious poundage.
So, I Googled "Why are so many Mormon women fat?" Wow...there are a couple of web sites that explain this phenomenon. It seems that religions that suppress women seem to have this effect on them...they pig out so to speak.
Just like the Mormons, If you go into most Kingdom Halls you will notice one of two things. Most the people there are women and most of them are over weight.
Coincidence? Me think not!
